The sixth-generation BMW 3 Series sedan is longer, wider and roomier than its predecessor, and features all-new sheet metal, a revamped cockpit, a new turbocharged four-cylinder variant and a new eight-speed automatic transmission option.

The 328i and 335i are offered in three trim levels: Sport Line, Luxury Line and Modern Line. An M Sport package will also soon be offered.

BMW has fitted its N20 engine, a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder direct-injection gasoline unit, to the 328i. The engine, which was first introduced in the 2012 Z4 sDrive28i, delivers 240 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, and drives the rear wheels through a standard six-speed manual gearbox.

BMW says the 328i achieves 0-60 acceleration in 5.7 seconds, with an electronically governed top speed of 130 mph (155 mph with the Sport Line trim level).

The 335i’s turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine makes 300 hp and 300 lb-ft, and sprints from zero to 60 in 5.4 seconds, with the same upper speed limits.
